Tockholes Regional Event

SELOC Regional Event and Yvette Baker Trophy round at Tockholes, Blackburn. BB3 0PD, GR SD665213.

Terrain: Mature mixed woodland with a good path network. Area remapped and extended, May 2010

Location: NW region, Tockholes, between Blackburn and Bolton

Travel: Exit junction 3 M65 onto A675. Please approach from A675. Signed from junction A675 and Crookfield Rd.

Parking: Next to Tockholes Road and 5 mins from the Visitor Centre. Map ref. SD664215, OS Explorer Map 287
Access to the parking area is through a narrow gate. £1 charge. No access for large vehicles. Larger vehicles will be redirected to alternative car parking.

Greater Manchester Primary Schools Orienteering Finals - Tuesday morning 13th July

If you are free during the week and willing to help for a couple of hours on Tuesday 13th July, this event is taking place at Tandle Hill Country Park, Oldham. It is limited to school teams who have come through the qualifying borough rounds.

Hamish Willis, our North West Regional Development Officer, is planning and running the competition this year with electronic punching. He will be putting controls out earlier and would like help from 8:30 for a 9:30 start, so I guess expected finish is around 10:30-ish

Duties will include putting up start / finish banners, running a Naughty Numbers activity and patrolling parts of the course, as well as of course generally providing a SELOC presence.
