I hope you enjoyed your run today. We definitely benefited from the weather and the quality of the area in terms of turn out, with a Saturday morning record of 43 separate competitors, approximately 50% SELOC members. With senior family members shadowing youngsters we had over 50 people involved in the event. There were also 10 competitors taking part in the radio-o event put on by SELOC member Phil Ellis. Five members of SELOC took to their mountain bikes after the racing was complete, checking out the new bike tracks in the park - everyone returned safely!

Congratulations to course winners Joe Mercer (short blue), Darren Baker (light green and orange) and Lucy Seddon (yellow). Obviously, Josh Sammon would have won the orange had Darren run to his usual potential on the short blue - so well done Josh! Well done also to Toby and Theo Middleton making one of their first runs at our events.

Some explanation is required of Jack Cryer's time - he misplaced his dibber for 36 minutes on his 41 minute leg. Without that problem it would have been a fantastic time. Best of luck Jack at the British Champs next week.

Ross Smith had arguably the biggest adventure of the day sinking up to his waist in a bog for several minutes. At least he returned smiling to tell the tale!

Can I give a special thank you to Dean and Joel Thetford who helped from the start to the end of the day putting controls out, looking after entries and the start, taking in controls and the results. Thanks also to Steve Round helping to take controls in. It is worth noting that without volunteers taking it in turn to help out on Saturday mornings it is not going to be possible to maintain the number of events we are currently able to put on, which would be a shame as we are all having a lot of fun being able to take part in them.

Unfortunately the result of Paul Van-Calster (M50) didn't record on the download box properly. For information his time was 92.21 on the short blue. It was his first run for many years so a very well done.
