Moses Gate, 30 November 2013

Results from our latest Saturday morning event, this time at Moses Gate Bolton, are available here.

Hope you all enjoyed the event.  Those who were at Moses Gate during the summer for the club nights will realise how much the vegetation changes in the park during the year - even a couple of months ago there was no way of leaving the paths because of the thickness of the undergrowth, which had receded alot in the interim.

Here are some notes from Paul Booth the planner and organiser on the day:

"Up before dawn on the final park run event of the year on what turned out to be a wonderful sunny crisp Morning with frost on the ground and some ice on the course making it more slippery than usual. Most people seamed to enjoy the courses which created lots of comments and discussion afterwards which is what I love about orienteers. My apologies for anyone who had trouble finding control 39, that is one I will put down to experience.

The event couldn't have happened without all the fantastic help I received from club members. Caroline and Pauline on registration, Steve offering to man the road crossing for the second event in a row and Paul for staying and collecting controls. A special mention to Rachel and Leanne who got up as early as I did to put out controls then supervised the start procedure and finally collected controls at the end, they did get taken out for a meal afterwards for their reward.

Thanks for everyone who entered and made it an enjoyable morning both competitive and social and to our friends from PFO and to Jean and Jackie from EPOC for adventuring across the border."
